A trav\u00e9s de las tres fases del proyecto Conoce, Act\u00faa y Exige \u201cPromoci\u00f3n y Defensa de los Derechos Sexuales y Reproductivos para la prevenci\u00f3n de los embarazos y violencia sexual en ni\u00f1as y adolescentes en el \u00e1rea Sur de Pet\u00e9n\u201d, Fase I, II, III\u201d, ejecutadas durante los a\u00f1os 2017, 2018, 2019 y 2020, se fortalecieron los conocimientos y se propici\u00f3 el ejercicio pleno de los derechos sexuales y reproductivos, incidencia pol\u00edtica, liderazgo, atenci\u00f3n diferenciada sobre salud sexual y reproductiva y la educaci\u00f3n integral en sexualidad en ni\u00f1as adolescentes, mujeres j\u00f3venes y las funcionarias Maya Q\u2019eqch\u00ed, Maya\u00a0 y Mestizos del Ministerio de Salud y Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n del departamento de \u00a0Pet\u00e9n, en alianza con el Fondo de Mujeres del Sur dentro del marco del Programa Liderando Desde El Sur.<\/p>\n

Para lograr el objetivo se desarrollaron 2 componentes, el primero se centr\u00f3 en empoderamiento de los Derechos Sexuales y Reproductivos, liderazgo y ejercicios de la sexualidad responsable en 440 ni\u00f1as adolescentes y mujeres j\u00f3venes Maya Q\u2019eqch\u00ed, Maya\u00a0 y Mestizos de 5 municipios del departamento de Pet\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

El primer componente tambi\u00e9n desarrollo 5 Talleres a 250 funcionarias y funcionarios de 5 Distritos de Salud del \u00c1rea de Salud Pet\u00e9n Sur Oriente, sobre normas y procedimiento de Atenci\u00f3n Diferenciada para las y los adolescentes en las tem\u00e1ticas de salud sexual y reproductiva, igualdad de g\u00e9nero, derechos sexuales y reproductivos, prevenci\u00f3n de la violencia y de los embarazos en ni\u00f1as y adolescentes.<\/p>\n

Como parte de este componente tambi\u00e9n se llevaron a cabo 2 Seminarios sobre Educaci\u00f3n Integral en Sexualidad y Prevenci\u00f3n de la Violencia Sexual, dirigidos a 100 funcionarias y funcionarios de la Direcci\u00f3n departamental de educaci\u00f3n de Pet\u00e9n \u2013DIDEDUC- y de las 3 Direcciones de \u00c1rea de Salud de Pet\u00e9n (\u00c1rea Sur Oriente, Norte y Sur Occidente).<\/p>\n

El segundo componente estableci\u00f3 procesos de dialogo e incidencia pol\u00edtica a trav\u00e9s del desarrollo de 13 reuniones de la Mesa T\u00e9cnica \u201cPrevenir con Educaci\u00f3n\u201d Distrital del Sur Oriente de Pet\u00e9n y 60 emisiones del programa de radio biling\u00fce Espa\u00f1ol-Q\u2019eqch\u00ed \u201cEl ABC de la Sexualidad\u201d.<\/p>\n

Las cuatro fases del proyecto fortalecieron los procesos de incidencia pol\u00edtica que realiza la Asociaci\u00f3n AMA a trav\u00e9s de la continuidad y consolidaci\u00f3n de la Mesa T\u00e9cnica \u201cPrevenir con Educaci\u00f3n\u201d Distrital del Sur Oriente de Pet\u00e9n. Lo que incrementa en un 40% la cantidad de escuelas de educaci\u00f3n primaria que implementa la Educaci\u00f3n Integral en Sexualidad y Prevenci\u00f3n de la Violencia en los 14 municipios del departamento de Pet\u00e9n, Guatemala.<\/p>\n

This advocacy space effectively promotes the implementation of Differentiated Friendly Spaces for adolescents and youth in the Health Districts of Chact\u00e9, San Luis, Popt\u00fan, Dolores, El Chal and Santa Ana, Pet\u00e9n, of the South East Health Area of Pet\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

This combination of youth empowerment and political advocacy strategies contributed to the fulfillment of the commitments made by the Government of the Republic of Guatemala through the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health through the Letter Agreement \u201cPrevent with Education 2016-2020\u201d, with sectoral support in the department of Pet\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

A1. Tres campamentos juveniles de formaci\u00f3n interactiva. (2017)<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

Se desarrollar\u00e1n tres campamentos juveniles de formaci\u00f3n interactiva, los cuales tuvieron un d\u00eda y medio de duraci\u00f3n cada uno, con la participaci\u00f3n de\u00a0 30 lideresas y 10 l\u00edderes voluntarios de AMA, comprendidos entre las edades de 16 a 24 a\u00f1os de edad, de 12 comunidades y 8 zonas urbanas marginales Maya Q\u2019eqch\u00ed y Mestizos de cinco municipios del Sur de Pet\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

The camps focused on issues of Sexual and Reproductive Rights, Right to Freedom, Self-Care, Family Planning Methods, Leadership and Advocacy. These camps were developed by AMA's executive team with the support of technicians from the Ministry of Education, Pet\u00e9n South East Health Area and the Human Rights Ombudsman's Office.<\/p>\n

At the end of the camps, the youth volunteers shared the knowledge they learned with at least 10 adolescent girls and young women from their community of origin, which strengthened their attitudes of leadership, critical thinking and democratic participation, and empowered the rest of the adolescents in their community on these issues.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

A2. Cinco Talleres sobre normas y procedimiento de Atenci\u00f3n Diferenciada (2018)<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

Talleres sobre normas y procedimiento de Atenci\u00f3n Diferenciada para las y los adolescentes en las tem\u00e1ticas de salud sexual y reproductiva, igualdad de g\u00e9nero, derechos sexuales y reproductivos, prevenci\u00f3n de la violencia y de los embarazos en ni\u00f1as y adolescentes. (2018).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Five workshops were held on standards and procedures for differentiated care for adolescents in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, sexual and reproductive rights, prevention of violence and pregnancy in girls and adolescents.<\/p>\n

Las formaciones fueron dirigidas a 250 colaboradoras y colaboradores Maya Q\u2019eqch\u00ed y Mestizos de los Distritos de Salud del Sur de Pet\u00e9n, el cual est\u00e1 integrado por los Distritos de Chact\u00e9, San Luis, Popt\u00fan, Dolores, El Chal y Santa Ana, Pet\u00e9n<\/p>\n

The purpose of the training was to sensitize employees to the importance of providing differentiated and quality care to adolescents and young women, so that they have access to comprehensive health care.<\/p>\n

The training sessions lasted one day and were held in each Health District with the support of officials from the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program of the Health Area Directorate of Pet\u00e9n Southeast.<\/p>\n

As part of the education and training process, the staff developed an internal action plan and guide for the care of adolescents and young people who come to the Health Districts for care. This has contributed to improve information on the high rate of pregnancies and sexual violence experienced by girls and adolescents in southern Pet\u00e9n.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

A3. Seminars on Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Prevention of Sexual Violence (2019)<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

Two seminars on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (IES) and Prevention of Sexual Violence (PSV) were targered for 100 officials of the Departmental Education Directorate of Pet\u00e9n -DIDEDUC- and the three Health Area Directorates of Pet\u00e9n, which are: South East Area, North Area and South West Area.<\/p>\n

The seminars were attended by speakers from the National Observatory of Sexual and Reproductive Health -OSAR- of Pet\u00e9n, the Secretariat against Sexual Violence, Exploitation and Trafficking of Persons -SVET-, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and the AMA Association.<\/p>\n

The seminars focused on the importance of including Comprehensive Sexuality Education (IES) and Violence Prevention (VP) in the elementary and middle school system in the department of Pet\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

The seminars were used as a platform for the inclusion of 14 Diploma Programs in Comprehensive Sexuality Education (IES) and Violence Prevention (VP), within the 2020 Strategic Plan of the Technical Committee \"Prevent with Education\" in the department of Pet\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

Therefore, it was stipulated that in the year 2020 the Technical Committee would provide 14 diploma courses with the participation of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and with sectorial accompaniment and aimed at 1,006 teachers who teach in 247 elementary and middle schools in the department of Pet\u00e9n, Guatemala.<\/p>\n

This will enable 22,293 girls, adolescents and young people to receive comprehensive education on sexuality and violence prevention, which will empower them to take responsible, informed and assertive measures about their lives and sexuality, promote the achievement of their life plan, and avoid harmful practices such as early pregnancies, sexual violence and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV\/AIDS.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

A4. Trece reuniones de la Mesa T\u00e9cnica \u201cPrevenir con Educaci\u00f3n\u201d Distrital del Sur Oriente de Pet\u00e9n (2017-2018-2019-2020)<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
\n\t
\n\t\t
\n\t\t\t

Durante las cuatro fases del proyecto se realizaron 10 reuniones de la Mesa T\u00e9cnica \u201cPrevenir con Educaci\u00f3n\u201d Distrital del Sur Oriente de Pet\u00e9n, por lo que durante el a\u00f1o 2017 se realizaron tres reuniones, las cuales dieron como resultado la creaci\u00f3n, establecimiento de consensos y elaboraci\u00f3n del Plan Estrat\u00e9gico 2018.<\/p>\n

In 2018 and the second phase of the project, four meetings were held and focused on strengthening the Strategic Plan, inclusion of civil society and government stakeholders, in addition to the follow-up of the Strategic Plan.<\/p>\n

The Technical Committee included representatives of women's organizations, civil society and the media, Global Humanitaria, Adecop Itzam, Action for Healthy Living, Sexual and Reproductive Health Observatory -OSAR- Pet\u00e9n, Auxiliary of the Human Rights Ombudsman's Office, radio U'tan Kaj, radio Shekina, municipal office for the protection of children and adolescents, municipal women's department, SEGEPLAN, Ministry of Social Development. All this strengthened the performance of the technical committee.<\/p>\n

In 2019, during the third phase of the project, three meetings of the Technical Committee were held, which focused on the implementation, strengthening and follow-up of the 2019 Strategic Plan and the establishment of the 2020 Strategic Plan.<\/p>\n

These plans focused on the inclusion of comprehensive sexuality and violence prevention education in the educational system and at the basic level in the municipalities of southern Pet\u00e9n, strengthening adolescent-friendly spaces for sexual and reproductive health, and strengthening differentiated and comprehensive care for adolescent girls.<\/p>\n

For this reason, five courses on Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Violence Prevention were held for 226 teachers who teach in 76 elementary schools in the municipalities of San Luis, Popt\u00fan, Dolores, El Chal and Santa Ana, Pet\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

We strengthened six adolescent-friendly spaces for adolescents on sexual and reproductive health. These spaces provided information and attention to 1,800 adolescents and young people, who had access to family planning methods, differentiated attention and information on the exercise of responsible sexuality.<\/p>\n

This also allowed strengthening the capacities of 250 collaborators of the Health Districts of Southern Pet\u00e9n, on issues related to differentiated care for adolescent girls.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
